Festival favours us Directly or Indirectly

|| Festival favours us Directly or Indirectly ||

Festivals can make each and everyday as the best one, if we want to? It is said that, the greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals. We celebrate festival of colors - Holi, Festival of Krishna and Ganesh, Festival of Mataji i.e. Navratri. Eid as a festival. Xmas and many more... All these festival has a direct or indirect meaning in our lives, if we notice it minutely. When we take birth on this earth we just come with empty mind, body, and soul. Its the environment, our culture, our community, our parents, our gurus, our peers who teach us or give us the opportunity to observe them minutely. If you see or u have heard stories of God and Godesses, they were with each other but they have thier individual role to make this shrishti, if you see the galaxy, stars, moon and the sun and the other planets are all together but, everyone has an individual role to play. We humans are on earth who are with each other but, in this fast pace world, seeing and comparing with each other we have lost our own individuality???

A child who takes birth in family, needs to learn language and speech like others. He or She observes others and forms her or his own method of learning. During Krishna's birth also known as festival of Janmashtmi, each and every Gvals an Gopis used to come forward to celebrate Handi Utsav which still continues as Govinda, where we still come together whithout thinking about caste or religion and just focus on how to deal with handi? at the given location. It shows unity amongst us for celebration. It also shows that, we still celebrate Krishna's birth on our motherland India. It's because we believe in him, we have faith in him. It's the same during the festival of Ganesha. Ganesha is a God to worship whenever we start something new in our life. May it be a family gathering or marriage or in work. We believe in his existence to help us to overcome all the challenges of life.

After the birth of a child, whenever you celebrate a festival, you narrate a story why you celebrate and what is meaning behind it and from where the culture gets develop. What you teach a child he / she absorbs. Festival makes a family connect again, it shows lights of brightness, unity, respect to your culture, religion and community. How well you explain about festival that gets nourished in your childs mind. When we celebrate festival of Diwali, we light candles of hope. That lighting of lights should not limit to your house, it should be in lifting up others as well. This is one more part of teaching which is needed. We can make a change starting from our home by teaching our kids about values of culture, community and country.

When we celebrate, say festival of Ganesha, we do so much of preparation in advance, we wait the for arrival of Ganesha for a particular day, a particular time, we invite others to participate, we do pooja at specific time, we do make bhog for ganesha, we do lightings, we share each others preparations, we share food and their recipes, say recipe of different modaks for ganesha, we distribute prasad (food). we also try to differentiate each others unique way of celebration, we communicate to each other about it. we forget everything and concentrate only on our prayers, Whatever difficult time we have, we do celebrate... Now just read again everything and analyse, if we just try to become little skillful and if we try to do this everyday dont you think so each and every festival will favour us to celebrate each and every day of our life as a festival. Say like every day we are ready to face challenges, communicate with each other, forget about differences and everyday prepare our self with different recipe of life... Friends just think about it....

Whenever we do events from our JOSH Foundation, every time we try to come out with new concepts for all the deaf kids to perform and we give all the deaf schools at least two months to prepare. For Eg. once we gave them talent contest as a subject, where they had to represent different countries, so during those two months, every teacher gave them ideas about different countries, they used to give them exposure about their religion, culture and food. Than they select which country they want to represent and they write it in their own words, so they apply their thinking and than they prepare themselves to their best. When they perform dances in dance competition for that also we give different concepts like festivals of India or Fusion or I Love India and many more. This learning is very much necessary in our lives other than education, as they help us to grow as a better human being and it makes our thinking wide. In dance competition they also learn how to work in coordination, how to be different and how to present. This is the same thing what we do while celebrating festivals.

We celebrate festival of colors as Holi, where we only think about spreading colors on each other. We do get connected to celebrate. How about adding colors of energy and hope and positive attitude in each and every day of life. Muslims celebrate Eid or Jain they do celebrate Mahavir Jayanti, we do thank each other and wish each other to forget and forgive differences. Why can't we follow it everyday?? Xmas we do gift each other and wait for arrival of new year. Why can't we gift each other everyday with kindness of words and support? and Why can't we wait for each and every day with new beginnings? One uncle who used to come to my clinic, he wanted to wish me for my birthday and one specific Sindhi sweet he wanted me to taste but somehow he couldn't make it that day casue he was not well for very long time, than after almost two months he called me and he said i m coming to meet you and wish you with the sweet and I have specially prepared for you. The statement he made "i couldnot come for your birthday a real date but today also is a good day and i want you to celebrate each and every day of your life as your birthday" wow!!! I will never forget those words...in my life.

Friends in reality, these festivals favour us to look our life in a different manner. Though, each and everyday we face challenges, festivals make us relax and divert our mind. Specially to believe in faith and prayers and connecting to god and connection with each other. However in economical problems, we find out ways to maintain our rituals and our cultural values. We may not do as described or may be grand but, we try to do in our own individual capacity. Similarly  we can only feel colors in our life in our individual manner.

Though in last six months we have gone through difficult times which no one could think of but, celebration of Krishna's birth and Ganesha entering in house have made the vibration of change in our lives. From our education to professional work and other commitments we are enjoying values of culture. Our Indian culture and festivals have always favour us to have faith and believe in our God and Ourselves. How, which way, for what, when, where and why we celebrate festivals, we only need to analyse so that it favour us more...

"FESTIVALS ALWAYS FAVOURED US."
