||  Light The Life ||

I was reading beautiful quotes on light ''Let the light shine out of darkness" read one more "Be the light that let others see" and one more "When you possess light within, you see externally". After reading these quotes a question was raised in my mind, How are these quotes true and interconnected during the Covid19 pandemic? Let this Diwali our Indian culture which has a depth of spirituality and values, should light the life of others who are in need. Many countries are going through difficult times like us and we Indians have the strength to create faith in us and also for them. Our God, Goddess and our cultural values have taught us to have strong bonds, maintain relationships, and always give respect to family values. Our ancestors have created strong impressions on our lives through their sacrifices and fighting for the right path which is Dharma. The darkness of economic crisis, losing lives of our own family members, loss of education, bonding among kids, peers, business associates, employees, exposure to travel, seeing the world in person, everything has come to a pause. This needs to open up and we need to light the path to see life differently and in a direction where people create faith, confidence and get encouraged to be better human beings. This light we all Indians have within us, our religious books have best teachings, especially I am talking about Bhagwad Gita which has given me the immense depth of knowledge, taught me how to overcome all the challenges of life by just thinking in the positive direction and doing good karma. How about, we just pass on this message to the world to be better???

In Mahabharata Arjuna when he entered the war with his moral support Lord Krishna, was reluctant to fight, it was that time when Lord Krishna gave live teaching to Arjuna. There are 18 teachings of life that were narrated by Lord Krishna which is there in the book called "Bhagwad Gita". If you have laziness, greed, anger, confusion, depression, pride, or you are demotivated, you have fear or loneliness or losing hope or uncontrolled mind, feel discriminated, have feelings of lust or feel sinful, have difficulty dealing with envy or not able to accept the death of loved once or you want to practice forgiveness or forgetfulness and you have temptation to be a better human being, all these problems have solutions and they are described beautifully in Bhagwad Gita by our ancestors. When we have solutions for all our problems and we have that beautiful guide with us then why do we cannot light our life more beautifully this Diwali for ourselves and for others especially those who are in need???? Let us explore the strength of our own spiritual power which we have in our own soul especially we as Indians.

Darkness shows the real light. When you touch hot water then only you learn the importance of calmness, when you make a mess then only you understand how important it is to appreciate the cleanliness, and when you experience sadness then only you learn how lighter you become by just smiling and laughing. when you go through pain or tension then only you realize how good it is to be relaxed. When you face difficult situations or challenges then only you learn to enjoy the best earned moments for a smooth life. When you acknowledge what you have then only you understand how important it is to be thankful. When you give value to your time, the time helps you to get where you need to be. When you show kindness that very moment you realize how important it is to be loved, as love is not a relationship with one person love is a way of life for all living beings. While working with specially challenged people I feel to light a real-life, we need to spread love and smiles to enlighten our and others life.

Post-Diwali last year, a little girl with a lovely smile entered my clinic as a client having speech issues. Parents were worried as she was not making attempt to speak to anyone. They were worried about her future. I as an Audiologist and  Speech Pathologist have a habit of first checking the ears, I checked her ears to find out, whether she is listening well or not, and through speech software, I checked whether all the speech and voice to articulate is normal or not. After all my analysis I found her to be absolutely alright like any other normal child but she was lacking confidence. After talking with her for a while I found she is intelligent but she is restricting herself from sharing her thought process with others. After a few sessions, I just told her why don't you come to the clinic and help me in my work and help me to work with specially challenged people who are having lots of challenges in life but still are so confident. She not just started coming but is also enjoying working with us. Today she is part of our team. Infact, this Diwali we had a team meeting and we were discussing how to run the clinic with technology, and to our surprise, she came up with such intelligent questions which were out of the box and very relevant. We all were shocked to know that she has such deep thinking which has been suppressed by her own thought process. I felt so satisfied that from that Diwali to this Diwali I just contributed a bit to enlighten the life of this girl with my learning, and working with specially challenged people.

My role model Mother Teresa says I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I know that when we die and comes time for God to judge us, he will not ask, how many good things have you done in your life? rather he will ask, how much love did you put into what you did? Logic is very simple. You come to this world because of the love and intimation of two people, you grow with your parents love and you achieve success if you do what you love to do and your metabolism of the body spreads that love as much as the love you received from others. We Indians have special qualities to spread love as we have received the best strong and ample amount of love from our ancestors who have taught us, "family values".

This time Diwali for us is on Thursday, in Hindi it says Guruvar. We Indians have so many spiritual gurus who are teaching us how to have faith in God and believe that God is always there with us in any difficult situations that we face. We have positive and strong energy from all the temples, mosques, and churches. At every religious place in our country, our strong religious gurus have done so much prayer for us and our well-being. It is said that where negative energy is preserved there darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate only love can do that. I still remember those sentences in one of the temples that I visited a few years back, the words were "when you come to this world God has made food ready for you from your mother's breast why do you worry???" Similarly, Light and love to be felt and spread in the right direction Bhagwad Gita says and also narrated by so many educational gurus of our country that, "time has come we need to look at great heritage and treasure of knowledge of our country". I hope this Diwali we light our life with our own values.

In the medical field, a big revolution has taken place during the Covid19 pandemic. People have understood great medicines researched by our ancestors have a huge impact. We have been sharing a lot of medical research with the world and it adds a lot of credit as it's added with human values which we have in our inner heart and soul. We all have to come together and need to identify our own strengths and need to work on them. Let's this Diwali we enlighten life with the knowledge we have received from our own Indian Core Values. We need to conduct medical camps and workshops with spiritual connections and make people aware of their own strength which makes the world more beautiful. Lord Krishna says, "Life is a gift, "wake up every day and realize that every problem has a solution and if you spread positivity you not only light your path but the path for others as well."

This Diwali I pray to God for more positivity to spread in this world. If we all together thank our mind, it will relax to do better work, if we thank our heart it will open to spread love. If we thank our past, it will integrate to spread kindness. If we thank our symptoms, they will heal, if we thank our shadow it will vanish our pain. If we thank our life, we will transform to be a better version of ourselves. If we thank God and our soul created by him, the light will dawn. So, this Diwali just lights the life...
