Commitment is not a word. It is an act. We are celebrating the 73rd year of Republic Day and will soon celebrate 75 years of Independence. So many leaders and soldiers of our country have given their lives to give us freedom and make us feel safe and secure. Some leaders we know by names and have engraved their images in our hearts. Some leaders or soldiers have sacrificed their lives, and we may not even have known their existence. They or their families have never asked that their name should be announced or they need recognition. They just believed in their commitment towards their country and performed best with their actions. Today each and every person in this world apart from these devoted soldiers wants to be noticed. They believe in their selves and want recognition of what they are doing. In this race of communication, they want to communicate only what they want to listen to. The scientific revolution has turned us into robots though we are humans and spiritual beings for which our country has higher values and blessings and it is vanishing. Post-Pandemic and by understanding situations, the time has come for each and every individual, every Indian citizen needs to work for their commitments towards their own motherland India and needs to act in the best possible manner.

As mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata about lord Krishna and Rama's commitment towards their people and how their brave soldiers also had blind commitments to save the dharma. During that time also the situation was the same only a few soldiers names we remember and others just existed but their motto was to perform their best actions towards their commitment. From the time of our ancestors we among us have differences of opinion we fight it out, we may work for what is best for our country's unity. But we have never made attempt to attack any other country. We may have given answers to attacks given by other countries but we have never initiated the war. This is our manners i.e. our good karma. We believe in peace. Our rich cultural values from the time of our ancestors tell us that we need to be humble and kind. Love and smiles on other's face by our actions ensures blessings and today our country with a high population of 130 million people is still with spiritual power, healthy, and wealthy by heart. Natural calamity gives us alarming signals to pay attention to our commitments and our actions towards our own country, community, and our family and to our own self.

There is a nicely written quote by one of the writers " we are all leaves of one tree" that is our motherland and we all are waves of one sea that is the spirituality of our country. Leaves grow then fall from the tree and then grow again. The base of our country is spirituality which works like soil for our tree and it grows with healthy leaves of faith. If we work with faith and commit to doing our best then our actions will perform the best of the results. Today Swami Vivekananda, Mother Teresa, and many spiritual leaders have made their own space all over the world . Today not only the people of our country but every human being on this earth is searching for such positive spiritual energy created by them. We should learn little from them and work with our commitment and act to survive those positive energies created by them. Our country is living with values, we worship our gods and goddesses, the act of kindness towards others, family strength, and bonding. Can't we just work towards making them survive rather than following the western world?

On republic day and independence day we hoist the flag. We visit to see the lighting done for the day and participate in different activities. We salute our national flag on many occasions nowadays in theatres also. We also teach and talk about leaders, their actions, and their commitment to our country. We also make kids participate in elocution, talent hunts, fancy dress or dance competition where they can think and talk about it. In my mind, only one question comes that is why do we perform such actions for a short duration. Why we cant implement them in our day-to-day life? We may not be recognized leaders or soldiers but we can be "unsung heroes", one day our hard work and efforts will speak. Let us make a genuine commitment to ourselves that we will do something everyday to contribute to the development of our rich heritage country.

Recently in the last one week, I met coincidently two soldiers and three celebrities individually. One soldier I met for some commercial work, warmly welcomed us and he spoke all the matters with emotional connections. We felt as we know him for so many years. He served in Kargil and on Glacious for many years to fight for our country. We felt that we were talking to some worrier who believed in protecting us. Another soldier, I met as my patient was so humble and he spoke so gently with a warm heart as he gave an equal salute to our work done for him. Another day we met one celebrity, again so humble, who gave us time to meet for10 mins and felt so connected that spent an hour with us, discussing all stories of our Indian culture. One more celebrity we met was again very polite, sharp on time and did listen to us rather than another celebrity that gave us a time and when we reached he was already dressed to go out. His staff did our rapid antigen test and I came positive so I informed that I have just recovered from corona a few days back and my test is negative and his staff was not ready to listen and in front of us that celebrity left without meeting us. Throughout our life we come across such people, their behavior and attitude will tell us how much maturity or responsibility they have. It is up to us whom we follow? Should we stay on our commitment and show by our actions or just show off?

When i got my humanitarian award from the American Academy of audiology, I wanted the media to publish it . Humanitarian work also needs to publish commercially thus I  refused and responded by saying that in this much amount I can help many deaf kids. I will utilize my funding to change the lives of deaf kids. Every year and this year also many women magazines wanted to write about me commercially. I said I am a social worker and I don't have the budget for such paid articles. Humanitarian work should be done silently. Your results will speak one day.  I believe to put my best and today as blessings I got such a wonderful video on republic day by students supported by us. I feel so blessed. My commitment to help such deaf kids and reduce hearing handicaps from society continues from 2004. When we started the josh foundation, those actions over the years now created wonderful results and i feel so proud to be a citizen of the country who can work like those unsung heroes.

If you really go in-depth with your own clear perception you will see so many unsung heroes who are working silently to help and support our country. There are many more needed. From 2000 onwards neonatal screening for hearing started as research to do an early intervention. From 2005 it became mandatory in 80 countries and pediatric protocols were formed to support hearing-impaired kids. Over the years, by doing early intervention and right rehabilitation they are able to reduce handicap by 20 to 40 percentile. In our country, the age of detection of hearing is still 3 to 5 years. No mandatory screening and protocols. NGOs like us are working to make a change but we need support. Like every area of our life, we need awareness and need to make a change. You as an individual can do anything but not everything so we need to help each other. Be it recognized heroes or unsung heroes we all have to commit and do real actions to make a change.

Let's now onwards walk towards positivity with our base of spirituality and blessings of our ancestor's. Let's work with freedom in mind. Faith in words. Pride in our hearts. Memories in our souls. Let's salute the nation and give a commitment to ourselves and our family, community, and country and start portraying actions towards it. The Almighty has given us brains to think in the right way and we must use it effectively. You have a chance to be human or one day you will wake up and there won't be any more time to do the things you always wanted. Do it now...
