Someone has rightly said - "Humanity is an ocean and few dirt drops do not make the ocean of humanity dirty". This statement positively implies that Humanity still exists and one should not lose faith in it. The whole world is surviving because of humanity. Based on humanity and to save our mother Earth, we are always concerned about saving water, soil and nature, and we are also concerned about global warming. During the pandemic, natural catastrophes taught us to be connected with the scientific revolution. Science knows no country as its knowledge pertains to Humanity. We did amazing endeavors during that time, as a country, community, and religious family; we shared information and we survived only because of Humanity in this world. Naturally, in day-to-day life, we do so much humanitarian work that even as an individual we sometimes do not notice. Even the simplest things like showing paths to people so they can reach their destination, and loving our kids, parents, and our family values, matter. We guide others about food, doctor, etc. while traveling, chatting, or communicating with people in social gatherings. Sometimes a small humanitarian work can make huge changes in an individual. I believe humanity still exists in this selfish world which we need to notice.

Lord Krishna was very much aware that Mahabharat would happen and though he was a god, he had so many responsibilities to perform. He was trying to analyze how he could make it easier so the circumstances during the fight between Kauravas and Pandava dharma still exist. While discussing dharma with others, Lord Krishna asked, "What is dharma according to you?'' Someone replied, "I know how to look for profit. I learned that from Brahmins and now I help my family to survive". Lord Krishna described him as the greedy one. Another person said, "I am innocent and I have not committed any sins. I have never stolen anything or hurt anyone". Lord Krishna described him as a person who has fear and has grown. Another person in the crowd said that he is a fighter and defeats his enemies. He added that he does rituals and provides food to the Brahmins and represents himself as a great individual. Lord Krishna described him as the one who has excessive self-esteem. Another person approached Lord Krishna and said, "I am very soft-spoken and I do whatever people ask me to. I do not protest and I tolerate any weather, food, my thirst for water, and compromise with everything else in life". Lord Krishna described him as someone who's always called to be the poor one.

Lord Krishna looked at another timid person who always keeps away from struggle, only believes in peace, and keeps himself safe. He met another person who said, "I am the person near whom people come and leave money with their open heart. I make people meet God and relieve them from their pain". God describes him as a person who plays with emotions and feelings. The other person said they do a lot of donations and make a list of them. Lord described him as a baniya who keeps details of everything he does. Another person replied, "I do not care about anything. I do everything I feel like doing. I kill and hurt people. I am not bothered about anything that happens as I believe in God and he will take care of everything that happens". God described him as self-centered. There were many different people he met with various answers, but Lord never approved anybody who followed the actual dharma. According to Lord Krishna, dharma is doing something for someone without any expectations. It is the real humanity, which exists, especially in our country India, where the fragrance of love and deep roots of values given by Lord Krishna still exists.

I can give ample examples of humanity which we do unconsciously in our daily routine. Let us start with parents who give immense love to their kids, and if you see any mother on a train, flight, hospital, or any social gathering, she is given a special corner to feed her child. On bus trains or flights, if you see any handicapped or senior citizen person, you let them sit instead. In schools or colleges, you always give respect to your gurus and while visiting a temple, church, or masjid you enter after removing your shoes. Even if we are busy or modern or follow the scientific revolution, we still try to follow the rituals narrated in our religion. I have seen so many people who have old neighbours, handicapped or senior citizens. They try to help them in the best possible manner by getting them food or medicines. They even go to the bank or help them to go to the doctors.

If you go shopping and urgently need to go to the restroom, you will notice that the shopkeeper is willing to lend his restroom keys. If you are at your office, clinic, or at any social gathering and your friend feels thirsty or hungry, you go and arrange for food and water, that is humanity. If you come across any NGO that helps needy people and you just guide those people to go and visit that NGO, it is also humanity. A small gesture can change the lives of so many. I love the statement which I heard from one of the gurus, that if you want to feel like a better human and believe in humanity, then start with one good gesture. If you see an ambulance passing by, pray for the person who is struggling with life in that ambulance. You never know, someday someone will pray for you and you may survive. I believe those small incidents where you as a person without any expectations bring a smile to another person's face which proves to be "humanity still exists."

We have heard the story of Shabri Sudama and we have also heard about so many leaders of our country who have done so much without any expectations from the country or the people of the country. If we look at the soldiers of our country, they make us believe that humanity still exists by protecting us from threats. I recently visited one place where I was supposed to do make-up and hair styling for my presentation. Both the hair stylist and make-up artist were very efficient in their work and did a very good job. As a client, I offered some token of money to them, and they said - "we work here and get money for the same; we do our job in the best possible manner so we don't need this". I felt touched after such a long time. I saw people being ethical and human in their work. These are the people who can spread the real meaning of humanity. We all work and do our best, but we need to put our kind heart into it to maintain humanity.

There is one aunt in a temple who is nearly 90 years old. She calls me or other people whenever she sees them, and greets them. She even gives her blessings and then will give one chocolate. She never asks for help and if I ask her if I can drop her home, she will very softly reply - "please, you can, but only if you have time and if you are comfortable with it". There is another aunt who knows I will not take charge when she will come to meet me as her son is my school friend, so she will come every time with a new food item and she will give it to me. With a humble look, she watches me eating in front of her. Someone who does something for you without expectations is also called humanity, which still exists. Recently one lady who has been to my clinic before and saw that we do a lot of charitable work came across a few mothers who were struggling with fees for their kids. She gave them my address and luckily through one organization, I could help all those mothers. Those mothers gave blessings from their hearts to that lady who guided them.

Humanity still exists within us; we just need to feel it. Humanity should be done in natural flow without any expectations. The moment you start thinking about how and when and which way and where and why and how it can be done, then it loses its value. If humanity still exists our hearts will grow, and the world around us will become more meaningful and beautiful.
