The Moment I Chose Positivity .....
The Moment I Chose Positivity....
There comes a point in life when you no longer wait for good things to happen you create them. For me, that turning point came when I decided to live life through the lens of positivity. I chose not just to survive storms, but to dance in the rain. That choice has brought me back to Niagara Falls time and again not for the spectacle, but for what it represents: the relentless, graceful force of nature that flows with purpose, no matter the obstacles. It taught me to do the same.
Life doesn’t always follow our plans. Like a delayed flight that risks all your connections, we are often faced with uncertainty. But there’s a beautiful power in surrendering to the moment. Trusting that even if we don’t have control, we do have a choice in our response. Choosing patience over panic, faith over fear that’s where positivity begins. It’s not blind optimism, but a conscious act of resilience.
This philosophy finds its roots in the Bhagavad Gita, where Lord Krishna urged Arjuna to rise in the face of moral dilemma. When Arjuna stood trembling on the battlefield, refusing to fight his own kin, Lord Krishna offered not consolation, but clarity. Sometimes we must stand for what’s right, even if it’s painful. Not out of ego or anger but because someone must lead the way. Krishna reminded Arjuna that true karma and dharma arise from selfless duty and higher purpose. As I reflect on this, I realize that positivity is not passive. Sometimes, it is choosing to act with courage and clarity even when the path is uncomfortable.
Over the years, I’ve seen this principle come to life not just in myself, but in the children I work with. Young individuals who are hearing-impaired, often dismissed by society, have blossomed into achievers. This year, at Shruti School supported by Josh Foundation, every student who appeared for the SSC Board Exams passed with 7 scoring distinction and others achieving first class. Their smiles and spark tell a story no report card can capture.
And they are not alone. Across schools like Utkarsha Mandal Mookdhwani Vidyalaya and Samvad Karnabadhir Prabodhini in Dombivli, students with hearing disabilities have outperformed expectations. In fact, these inspiring stories found their place in national newspapers, proving that when given support, these children don't just rise they shine. With marks soaring from 90% to 69%, they have rewritten the definition of what’s possible.
These are the moments that reinforce my belief: positivity is power in motion. It is the energy that transforms limitations into launchpads. Just like the mighty waterfalls, these children channel their inner force not to break barriers, but to flow beyond them. Their journey is not just about marks; it’s about courage, grit, and the silent strength of belief.
I was recently with a group of women friends, celebrating Mother’s Day. In that moment, I shared a heartfelt reflection: our lives as mothers are so often devoted entirely to our children and families, that we rarely pause to care for our own body, mind, and soul. So, we made a collective wish to celebrate this Mother’s Day by promising ourselves a life of inner harmony. When we nourish ourselves, we radiate positivity, which in turn uplifts our families and everyone around us. That’s the true essence of self-love, a gift not just for ourselves, but for the world.
At Niagara Falls, I came across a quote that deeply resonated with me: “The power of the Falls inspired some to harness its energy and others to preserve its beauty.” It reminded me that positivity is not just about being cheerful, it’s about being purposeful. Like the children who rise above challenges, like the women who rediscover their inner light, like every soul that chooses kindness when it’s hardest to give, it’s all a flow of energy that shapes a better world. Positivity is both power and grace. It allows us to rise above circumstances, to guide others with strength, and to preserve the beauty within and around us. We can’t always choose the current, but we can choose how we flow, with purpose, resilience, and positivity.
