Love is what just happens; you can feel it; it cannot be put into words, according to people who have experienced it. When you connect with a real soul of your kind, typically your heart starts beating quickly, you start sweating, some new sensation or tickling feeling starts happening, you feel sudden closeness, and butterflies start flying in your stomach. Similarly, once we find an activity we want to perform or like, it just gives us a new sensation; it simply gives us a different energy, and we begin to view life differently. It is believed that first loves or crushes are irreplaceable; similarly, a passion that brings you great joy and a sense of life that you will never forget Let me talk about myself. When I was younger, dancing was my passion. I studied Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and folk dances along with my education. However, after entering the medical field, my family and various responsibilities forced me to stop dancing. Nevertheless, whenever I feel the need for a change or need a stress reliever, the first thing that comes to mind is to enjoy dancing to some good music. Yes, we don't forget what we love to do.
We recently traveled to Singapore for one of the conferences, where 40 audiologists from all around India were present. We were discussing our practices and exchanged information about what we do at our workplace. Some people were comfortable, others were stressed about the future, and yet others weren't sure which flow or rat race they should be in. Should they operate their firm ethically and according to principles, or should they use shortcuts to make money? We had a speaker from Singapore during the conference who has been working in the audiology field for more than 30 years, owns just one clinic there, and has a successful hearing practice. He proficiently stated, "I don't practice to sell hearing aids; I practice to enhance people's quality of life."
I get them to think about how hearing can improve their quality of life. He claimed that one should "hear well to live well" and added, "I explain to my client what the importance of hearing is and how, if hearing is affected, it can have a negative impact on your life." Listening to your loved ones—your spouse, your family, your grandkids—listening to music, communicating with others, your love for life—why do you want to compromise it? He said if you deliver near-natural sound to your clients, they will forget about their hearing loss. I was so impressed by him; he was a genuine professional, and I saw we had similar personalities. I felt to appreciate his quality that he was a real professional who listens to his clients with curiosity, speaks with honesty, and acts with integrity.'' He is a professional who makes people realize that you should never forget what you love to do.
He said so beautifully that - "we have to understand the psychology of hearing-impaired people. They want to ignore the fact that they have hearing loss; they are in self-denial about "how it will be using hearing aids", They may accept hearing loss, but they don't have the courage to tell others that they have hearing loss. They accept, but they don't want to seek any help from people. We need to understand their behavior and then guide them accordingly." In clear words, he said that if I will flow in discount markets and earn short-term money, I will not make people realize what is there in life that they love to do, and do remember that people never forget in life what they love to do. I mean that to belong to any profession, we must, as professionals, enter into the profession we love to do because only we can give justice to the work we do. Loving and enjoying your profession brings a different kind of shine and energy to your face, which I saw in this professional audiologist from Singapore.
When we take birth and we start speaking or crawling, we immediately get a smile on our parent's faces, and seeing their excitement comes on the child's face too. Parents hold the child with love, give that warmth, and feel that they have to nurture this child, which they will love to do with their best potential. A child feels that they are so secure in their parent's hand, and with this warmth and affection, they feel secure to be a part of this world, but somehow, in this rat-raced and competitive world, we as parents and we as children forget over time what we love to do. We are running away from responsibilities and what we love to do. The scientific world and technology have made us forget our real love for our loved ones. We need to pay attention to it, enjoy parenthood, and appreciate our childhood under the warmth of our parents.
Lord Krishna's father and real guide, Nanda, was once asked, "Your boy, Lord Krishna, has an amazing personality. He is just seven years old; he lifted Goverdhana like an elephant holding a lotus flower with pride, and he killed so many demons like Putana, Bakasura, and like so many demons. He has some magical power that causes anyone he meets to become attracted to him." He said that when Garga Muni performed the name ceremony for Krishna, he said that this boy has come to the universe with different colours and names with different qualities and activities. He said he is very auspicious for my family, and he will convert all the difficulties of life into blissful pleasures. He is the boy who will save the world from an unregulated condition, and he will save honest men from dishonest thieves. He said those who will come into contact with him will also never be defeated by his enemy. Everyone surrounded by or closer to Lord Krishna used to feel that Lord Krishna, who is kind, beautiful, and merciful, would protect us.
How can we forget that Lord Krishna accomplished everything from the moment of his conception out of love? We continue to remember him and believe in him even now in the Kaliyuga. We will never forget his love and blessings. May it be God, our parents, our parent's love, our work or love for our work, our passion, or our desires to do something we never forget Listening to ourselves, loving life and what we love to do, learning from our elders and our own experiences, and leading to a better future for ourselves and others, one must never forget what they love.
