Where focus goes, energy flows…
Where focus goes, energy flows...
This proverb is something I’ve tried to implement in my life and it truly works. When COVID struck, it brought fear and uncertainty. Everyone was panicking about this calamity. I too experienced that panic, and we shifted to working from home. I began treating my hearing-impaired kids online and saw them literally struggling to learn. It hit me this is their reality. From childhood, they’ve struggled to communicate with the hearing world, and yet they remain enthusiastic, eager to learn, and committed to overcoming challenges. They strive every day to blend into a "normal" world. One fine day, I decided to emulate their focus and choose positivity in everything. I began writing about spreading positivity, inspired by working with them. Today, positive energy flows through my mind, body, and soul. It's been five years of writing over 260 articles. Except for a few times while traveling, I’ve done my best to publish a new article every Thursday on the theme of positivity. Isn’t it amazing to stay this positive? Thanks and hats off to all my lovely hearing-impaired kids for helping me understand what true focus in life means.
I once read that our body operates in two ways: functional and organic. We all have organs composed of nerves, muscles, bones, and more. When one of the organs stops working, it's called organic disequilibrium. Many people say hearing-impaired children lack a working hearing organ, but their willpower strengthens their other senses. On the other hand, if all your organs are fine, but you still experience ailments say a stomach ache despite a healthy stomach that’s functional disequilibrium. We, the so-called “normal” people, have healthy organs. So what happens during life’s journey? Where does our focus go? Where does our willpower disappear? Even with everything in place, our energy flows with doubts, jealousy, and comparison, leading to negativity and mental health issues. Think about it.
So, are hearing-impaired children organically disabled, while we are functionally disabled? Who actually needs more focus? It is said that imbalance in our body arises from internal causes your personal way of dealing with life and external causes the world’s influence on you. We have a brain, lungs, heart, stomach, liver if each organ performs its role in perfect harmony, like good friends working together in agreement, and if every movement is done at the right time, then everything flows well not too fast, not too slow. Reading this, I asked myself: what are we doing with ourselves? Why don’t we focus enough to let all our organs run in harmony? Yet we desire tremendous energy flow. How will our body generate positive energy without inner alignment?
Our daily life runs smoothly when our organs function well. But if one organ stops working or slows down, it affects the entire system. We feel ill, and then if something upsetting happens, our thoughts spiral in all directions sometimes leading to fear or serious conditions. So the moment you feel a change like your heart racing from anger or exertion you must calm it down. Take long, steady breaths. Let your lungs guide your heart. And you’ll notice how your energy starts to flow in the right direction.
That’s why meditation and yoga are universally accepted practices. They help you build faith, nourish your organs with oxygen, and bring balance to the body. These practices promote conscious living, fitness, and inner peace while rejecting disturbances. They help you live with ease, joy, and glory. When focus means understanding your body, then energy flows as loving life. Besides understanding internal causes, it's equally important to identify external influences. We receive mental, emotional, and physical vibrations from others. You give and you receive. Lord Krishna beautifully explained in the Bhagavad Gita: the more you give with faith and positivity, the more positivity you receive. People who focus on spirituality channel their energy positively they become messengers of kindness and inspiration.
If your focus is on spreading positivity, you’ll help others even unconsciously. A person once came to meet me and said, “When I read your article, I feel like it’s written just for me. It makes me reflect and take action.” Isn’t it amazing to inspire someone like that? Why don’t we all try this path? Imagine how many lives could be transformed with positivity. I told him that my hearing-impaired kids are my inspiration. Just then, a mother of one such child chimed in and said, “So true. I have three daughters, and this one though hearing-impaired shows the most love and affection. She feeds others first, then herself. Everything she does is with complete dedication.”
This hearing-impaired girl had married a childhood friend both had hearing challenges. They shared a great understanding. But sadly, the family didn’t support them with warmth, and the marriage ended in divorce. The family’s lack of focus disrupted the energy, and things fell apart. I truly believe family harmony is as important as harmony among organs in our body. Just like organs must support one another for the body to thrive, family members must do the same for relationships and lives to flourish.
Just like the harmony of our organs or the determination of my hearing-impaired kids, success in life comes from focus, resilience, and never giving up no matter how long it takes. A powerful example is Royal Challengers Bangalore finally lifting the IPL trophy after 18 years of relentless effort. The team's journey was filled with ups and downs, but their focus never wavered. Virat Kohli, the heartbeat of RCB, stayed committed to the team through every high and low, showing unmatched dedication, grit, and belief in the process. His perseverance paid off not just as a cricketer, but as a symbol of passion and loyalty. Just like Virat, and just like my brave children, when we keep our energy focused in the right direction with unwavering belief, miracles truly happen. Let’s choose to live with focus, spread positivity, and inspire one another because where focus goes, energy flows, and greatness follows.
EXCELLENT!
